Converse to Host ADAPT Conference
On November 14—16, Converse will host representatives from twelve other women’s colleges for the ADAPT (Alumnae Directors & Association Presidents Together) Conference. “This is an exciting opportunity for Converse to welcome individuals from other women’s colleges across the country to our campus,” said Elizabeth Oswalt ’02, director of alumnae. “As alumnae relations professionals at women’s colleges, our alumnae’s experiences, the structure of our alumnae association and our alumnae events are very similar, compared to public universities or larger private institutions. To be able to share ideas and insights from such common ground is invaluable as we continue to grow and engage our own alumnae with the College’s mission.”
In conjunction with the conference, Converse will host a networking event for local alumnae of all participating schools on Sunday, November 14 from 5 to 7pm in Blackman Music Hall. In addition to socializing with alumnae and college representatives, attendees will have the opportunity to hear featured speaker President Fleming and enjoy a performance by the No Fella a Cappella Converse student singers.
ADAPT was established in 1974 as an avenue for alumnae relations professionals at women’s colleges to come together and share insight, ideas and successes. The 2010 ADAPT Conference will feature representatives from Agnes Scott College, Cedar Crest College, Chatham University, Columbia College, Hollins University, Mary Baldwin College, Meredith College, Newcomb College, Salem College, Sweet Briar College, Wesleyan College and Wilson College.
