Students Win Multiple Awards at SC Academy of Science Conference

South Carolina Academy of Science meeting

Students from the Department of Biology, Chemistry and Physics took top honors at this year’s South Carolina Academy of Science meeting at Coastal Carolina University. The conference was attended by more than 500 college and high school students.

Caitlin Lazurick ’19 (Nisbet Honors) won 1st place in the oral session on field biology. Nicole Lidzbarski ’18 (Nisbet Honors) won 1st place in the poster session for field biology. Gillian Horn ’19 (Nisbet Honors) placed first for her poster presentation in chemistry. Senior Amanda Burton earned 2nd place for her oral presentation in chemistry.
